Spring is just around the corner and so is TLC’s Annual Gala. It was so good to finally gather together “in person” last year with our donors. We hope to see even more of you attend this year on Thursday, April 18, at Stonegate Banquet & Conference Center located at 2401 W. Higgins Rd. (Rt. 72) in Hoffman Estates. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
You may already know our Guest Speaker: singer, songwriter, and storyteller, Mark Schultz. If not, don’t miss the opportunity to get to know this talented man who was adopted as a child. His adoptive parents pointed out to him at an early age how being adopted made him special!
This compelling musician has a heart for people and the difficult experiences they encounter, often weaving their stories into songs that inspire audiences everywhere. He even told one young girl who was struggling with sadness that “God has a plan for your life, and what you don’t want to do is miss out on this plan.”
Mark has been a recipient of the Dove Award (presented by the Gospel Music Association of the U.S.) as well as making it to the top of Billboard Magazine’s Christian Adult Contemporary Songwriter list.
He’s also been featured on various TV shows such as 48 Hours, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and CNN, just to name a few. It has been said that “It’s his ability to capture life’s most fragile moments in song, and lead people closer to God by revealing His glory in every situation that makes Mark Schultz such a great artist.”

TLC Pregnancy Services is a multipurpose facility reaching out to the community with the love of Christ, bringing light to the darkness.
Mission Statement
To encourage women and men facing unplanned pregnancies through education and outreach by providing limited medical services, material resources, emotional and spiritual support as we minister to them in the name of Jesus Christ.

A Thankful Woman Chooses Life

A young woman and her two-year old son came into our Schaumburg location. The little boy was very polite and you could tell he was very well cared for. His mom had just moved back here from another state and was living with a friend.
Upon returning to IL, she got together again with her old boyfriend and she became pregnant. She wasn’t sure what she was going to do. Not only was she now unexpectedly pregnant, but she had also learned her boyfriend got married after they got back together and then, a few weeks later, had been shot and killed. We might roll our eyes if we were watching this scene unfold in a movie, but this was a real woman’s actual situation, and it was heartbreaking. Needless to say, she was very upset and confused, and experiencing a lot of mixed emotions about his death, marriage and her pregnancy.
We talked for quite a while and performed an ultrasound. The ultrasound found an 8-week, 1-day old baby with a good heartbeat. I gave her prenatal vitamins and literature on healthy pregnancy and fetal development. And because she had a history of abortion, I told her about our Surrendering the Secret Bible study.
She just wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with her unborn baby so we carefully went over her options. Then, with her permission, we talked about her faith. She stated she was raised in a Christian home. I encouraged her to seek the Lord and ask Him to help her in her decision-making. I asked her if I could pray with her and she accepted. Before leaving, she thanked me and expressed that she felt much better.
As time passed, I sent her several text messages that all went unanswered. When at last I finally heard from her, she stated she was keeping the baby and thanked me for my help.
